Monteagle School students celebrated Education Week, which was held from August 2 to August 6, with an exciting activity organised for each day.
On Monday, the students participated in a cooking workshop. Our "Masterchefs" had the pleasure of building their own pizzas, cooking them and then eating them. The children also chopped up fruit and made delicious healthy fruit kebabs. To finish with, they made sticky chocolate balls. YUM!!
On Tuesday, a science workshop was held for all the Monteagle "Einsteins". They had the thrill of discovering that when they mixed certain compounds together that changes occured and the end result of quite exciting - being a bag of slime!
Wednesday was a day of art appreciation. Our budding artists studied a painting by Vincent Van Gogh and then after reflecting on the meaning behind it, they had the opportunity to recreate their own interpretation of the famous work, Sunflowers. Our artists also had the chance to create a digital story using the Kahootz 3D Digital Animation software.
On Thursday, our talented marimba players entertained shoppers in Boorowa Street. Along with students from Maimuru and Murringo Schools, they gave a performance outside Westpac. The shoppers enjoyed the music, with many comments of how talented our students are.
Friday saw all of the students participate in a sports tabloid. Our "sports stars" were able to enjoy a variety of sports that were a bit different than normal. All the students had a great deal of fun and can't wait to do these sports again.
All-in-all, Education Week as Monteagle School was a fulfilling and rewarding experience for the students, staff & parents.
